About Me and CyberRock.net
Hello, my name is Derek Altamirano. I'm 36 years old and have been using computers since the 5th grade. I am married to a wonderful wife, and have a 12 year old son Tyler. I've found that having kids is one of the greatest joys in life. I've been working on computers for what seems like an eternity. I have written programs in Basic, Assembly Language and C/C++, and more recently Visual Basic, Delphi, and C#. I have written many programs over the years and I enjoy doing so. I currently have a Pentium Dual Core 2.4GHz Dell with an NVidia 7900GS that rocks!!
I also enjoy playing against people in multiplayer capable games such as UT2003/UT2004, Unreal Tournament, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Quake II & Red Alert. (In the old days it was Doom 2, Duke Nukem 3D & Quake) ;-) I usually use the tag "HoMeRS}i{MpSoN" while online playing games.
My site, "CyberRock.net" comes from my nickname from high school (which my oldest friends and brothers still use). People on the basketball team started calling me "Derock", and it was eventually shortened to just "Rock". So using "CyberRock" as my site's domain name seem logical.
I currently live in Phoenix, AZ, though I spent 10 years in Spokane, WA after growing up in Central California.
