Hello, my name is Derek Altamirano. I'm 40 years old and have been using computers since the 5th grade. I am married to a wonderful wife, and have a 15 year old son Tyler. I've found that having kids is one of the greatest joys in life. I've been working on computers for what seems like an eternity. I have written programs in Basic, Assembly Language, Visual Basic, Delphi, and C#, and C/C++. I have written many programs over the years and I enjoy doing so. My current computer is a Intel Core i7 2.8 GHz Dell with an NVidia GeForce GTX260. It has more than enough horsepower for what I use it for!

I also enjoy playing games against people in multiplayer capable games such as Battlefield 3, Halo Reach, Homefront, Team Fortress 2, and Unreal Tournament 3. (In the old days it was Battlefield 2, Doom 2, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, Quake II, Quake 3, Unreal Tournament, Return to Castle Wolfenstein & Red Alert) ;-) I usually use the tag "HoMeRS}i{MpSoN" while online playing games. I also have an Xbox360; my gamer tag is HoMeRSiMpSN. Most weeks at some point you can find me online playing Halo Reach, Gears of War 3, Modernwarefare 3, or Battlefield 3.

My site, "CyberRock.net" comes from my nickname from high school (which my oldest friends and brothers still use). People on the basketball team started calling me "Derock", and it was eventually shortened to just "Rock". So using "CyberRock" as my site's domain name seem logical.

I currently live in Carlsbad, CA. I also spent 5 years in Phoenix, AZ, and 14 years in Spokane, WA after growing up in Central California.
